【Biological filtering】
Physical filtering is not able to deal with purifying the tainted water with feed left-over,
excrement which turns into ammonia.
Only the bacteria can deal with these conditions.
To enhance this performance of bacteria, sufficient amount of oxygen, bio-film and
filtering material which bio-film is accessible are necessary,
【SLUDGE】
Sludge will come out being stuck in the concrete pond in which few bacteria stays and
being active.
This can be described as it is in the situation at the time when the process of
decomposition comes to a halt due to lack of bacteria.
sludge provide optimum environment for pathogen.
Filtering tank which is not working as it should be ⇒ Pathogen production plant ⇒
pH decrease ⇒ immune system failure It is the beginning of vicious cycle,
1. Left-over feed, protein contained in excrement from Koi ⇒ sludge
2. Left-over feed, protein contained in excrement from Koi ⇒ soil
In case of 1, filtering system does not work as it should be and thus, pH decrease,
results in the koi being susceptible with disease.
In case of 2, filerint system works properly and thus pH being stable, results in less
likelihood of koi getting sick.
Eliminating pathogens (sludges) as much as possible can lead to prevention of disease.
Even if germicidal lamp is used, the pond can never be turned into aseptic stuatus
(germ-free).
Thus, water condition is of greatest significance in that regards.
【PROTEIN】
The situation in which white bubble appears for a long time upon water in concrete
pond proves the lack of bacteria.
Koi sences the rapid change of water condition and disposes aged mucous on
their own in an attempt to
expose fresh mucous protecting skin.
What white bubbles are nothing other than disposed mucous.
Our skin is covered with so called keratinous cells which prevent germs from coming
inside body.
Said keratinous cells are equivalent of mucous of Koi and which plays same important
role as preventing disease.
